Kato NW2 Locomotives…Good and Bad?

A look at the two Kato NW2 locomotives that just arrived. One runs amazing and one is very loud. What is going on? Apparently something on the inside of the frame is rubbing on the motor or drive shaft causing the noise. If I take the shell off the frame, it runs totally silent. I’ll try to figure out what the exact problem is and have a follow-up video.

Not sure if you're old enough, but as a kid we'd use clothespins and a playing card, clip the card to the fork of our bike with the card flapping through the spokes as we rode down the street, hence giving a flapping "motor" type sound. You could always pretend the sound is the motor! ;-)

Seriously, I agree, it's really annoying to get something new, out of the box with a defect. Just had this happen with a brand new Anycubic Photon M7 Pro 3d printer. After a few prints, the control LCD screen went bad. Problem with Chinese products, one can't just send the entire package back to China, they prefer to send you parts and have you…
