I bought a label maker and it helped organize my hobby workshop! The label maker I have is a Dymo label maker that I picked up from Target, but it is also available from Amazon here:

You can buy label material that is white paper, white plastic, clear plastic, and I think other colors of plastic. You type whatever you want, including letters, numbers, punctuation, and symbols, with 1 or 2 lines of text, hit print, push the cut button to cut the label off from the roll, peel off the backing, and stick it to whatever you want.
Besides organizing your hobby space, a label maker can be a great way to add labels to your model railroad controls, car card boxes, and other items.
This label maker is super useful and now all my construction and hobby supplies will now be much easier to find!

Great information. I have been using a label maker for years for file folders but finally got to my workshop last year. A suggestion for those who have not purchased yet...I have an older DYMO like yours and it's been bullet proof for 15 years or so but I also bought a Brother label maker because it has a QWERTY keyboard which I've found much easier to use. Also, I switched to a tape that has a split down the middle and it is easier to remove the backing.
