Build a Train Table from a Door

Do you need a table to run your trains or need a base for a train layout in N or Z scale, or maybe a small HO or O scale layout? Grab a hollow core slab door from your home center, or even get a cheap used door along with a pair of folding table legs an you can quickly build a nice table or layout base.

I used a 36” x 80” hollow core slab door that I picked up from Lowes. The door cost me $77, but smaller doors are cheaper, and if you don’t care about blemishes on the door, you can pick up a used or blemished door from many places for $30 or less.

These are the adjustable height folding legs with castors that I used for my project. Fixed height legs without wheels are far cheaper: https://www.tablelegsonline.com/pdla
